Sporting John’s full sister is up for auction

The Tattersalls Ireland National Hunting Sale February catalog has been published, with a quality selection of horses in training, two-year-olds, yearlings and brood mares among the entries.

The sale, which will take place on February 1, will start with 25 horses in training and 2 years old sold from 10 a.m., followed by yearlings and a selection of mares in the evening.

Highlights from the catalog include Liam Cosgrave’s full sister to Scilly Isles winner Novices’ Chase, Sporting John (Lot 172), Foxleigh House’s Poet’s Word half-brother to first-class hurdler The New One (155), Castledillon Stud’s half-brother Yeats to Emily Moon (173) and the half-sister Ocovango of Lough na Sollis Stud of the talented Chris’s Dream (26).

Mountstuart Farm Ranked Two-Shoe Tom (305), a daughter of Yeats from the family of the Give Notice Cadran Prize winner, and Gary McGill’s Dollys Destination (303), a daughter of Dubai Destination, are among the black-type fillies proposed as potential broodmares.

Past graduates of the February National Hunting Sale include the Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle Dreal Deal winner, Holloway’s Handicap Hurdle Craigneiche goalscorer, Classic Chase Notachance winner and the 2nd year Juvenile Duffle Coat winner.
