Movement, a fundraising art exhibition by artist Veronica Plewman, will be held at the Mission Arts Center from August 16 to September 3.
Plewman will donate all proceeds from sales to the Mission Arts Council for his new building.
This exhibition of small works refers to themes that the artist has explored over many years of creative experimentation.
Subjects include landscapes and trees, indistinct figures and silhouettes, dancers and islands. Plewman has an intuitive way of working and the results have been described as surprising and significant.
This is a paid show, so once you’ve paid for your selected artwork, you can take it home.
A colorful catalog commemorating the art exhibition is also on sale. With images of Plewman’s work. The artist has included thoughtful comments on the source of the images and his personal relationships. Proceeds from the sale of the catalog will also be donated to the building fund.
The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception to be held August 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mission Art Center 33529 1st Ave. (at Catherwood St.).
Come meet the artist and leave with a work of art. It’s for a good cause.
