Italian delegation explores SPC Free Zone business incentives for publishing industry

Sharjah: Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone (SPC Free Zone) explored potential ways to strengthen cooperation between Sharjah and the Italian Lazio region in the publishing sector with a delegation of Italian officials attached to Lazio Innova, representing the region of Lazio, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Rome as well as representatives of Italian companies in the publishing sector.

This happened during a virtual meeting recently organized by Lazio Innova to present the Lazio region program at the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai, which was attended by Salim Omar Salim, director of SPC Free Zone. The Italian team was represented by Quirino Briganti, Expo 2020 Dubai coordinator for the Lazio region; Laura Tassinari Zugni Tauro, Director of Internationalization, Cluster and Studies, Lazio Innova; and Beatrice Calabrese, Senior Business Analyst, Italian Chamber of Commerce in Dubai, among others.

Salim Omar Salim introduced Sharjah to the Italian team as a cultural powerhouse that is also a global economic destination, nurturing an ecosystem that responds to demands and meets all the needs of businesses and investors.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the Italian delegation to learn more about SPC Free Zone’s facilities and offerings to Italian publishers, as well as its efforts to support the regional and global publishing industries.
