The day of the year when Holland Park becomes a big water park is approaching.
Monsoon Madness returns on July 31 at Holland Park, 1 Park Dr. Fishers, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We bring in seven or eight inflatable slides and then hook them up to the water and create these giant water slides,” said Sarah Sandquist, Fishers Parks Directory. “It’s so much fun. It’s something different that we do and host. I haven’t seen it done anywhere else.
Monsoon Madness will also feature a Mechanical Shark and a Wave Surfer.
“So you can surf at Holland Park,” Sandquist said.
To convert Holland Park into Monsoon Madness, Fishers Parks is partnering with the city’s Public Works Department to operate an underground irrigation system to provide water for all of the slides.
“We have excellent coordination from our public works department to make sure that (the event) happens and that whatever is ruined under the ground is ruined.”
Banque Centier is the main sponsor of Monsoon Madness. The bank was the presenting sponsor of all of the Parks Department’s flagship events in 2021.
The event is free, but a Fishers Parks 2021 event waiver must be signed before anyone enters the event space. If someone had already completed the waiver at a previous park event, such as Spark! Fishers or Mud Day, the previous waiver still applies.
